Groups
Group services are provided in addition to individual counseling. Groups meet regularly and address specific concerns or topics. Being part of a group experience provides clients an opportunity to connect with others who have similar struggles and goals. Talking and listening to others puts problems in perspective, and helps to alleviate the isolation that often comes with mental health difficulties. Groups through Partners are open entry; new participants can join at any time. Participating with group members at different stages in the healing process instills hope for new members and allows insight into progress over time. Clients who participate in groups through Partners experience a safe and supportive environment while they work with the counseling staff and other groups members to achieve their goals.
Recovery and Empowerment
Recovery and Empowerment is a female-focused group that meets in two-hour sessions for a 10-12 week cycle. This group is offered to women receiving either mental health services and/or advanced treatment in the substance use disorder program. Topics include adverse life events, traumatic events, and the varying ways that individuals have developed negative coping strategies; suppressing emotions, using substances, and harmful relationships. Through progression in group discussion, women are enabled to change their past coping strategies, develop insight and build new positive approaches to life challenges.
